LEARN HANDS ON FILMMAKING ON AN INTERNATIONALLY DISTRIBUTED FILM

We had a success installation class with our first film, Ernie & Cerbie. Now we are starting our second film with Rescue Sal.

In the State of Georgia, there are film schools for aspiring filmmakers to choose from, but it is Cinema South Filmmaking course that engage students in the essentials of filmmaking, and afford hands-on training to best prepare them to achieve a successful career in film.

Beyond the fundamentals and hands on training, Cinema South Filmmaking course has secured international distribution that will allow student to work on an international distributed film that will garner each student an IMDB credit.

“Most film-makers, especially, first time film-makers don’t understand that they need to secure distribution before they begin producing their film,” stated Alvin Williams, who will serve as producer of this course. “We teach the student how to work a film backwards, which is the proper and cost saving ways to produce a film,” continued Alvin.

Cinema South Filmmaking Workshop featured production will be an Family film called, Rescue Sal.

Students gain invaluable experience, script development, script break-down, directing, shooting, serving as integral crewmembers, marketing, publicity, creating a sales sheet, creating a marketing plan and other invaluable aspects of producing and marketing a film, and experience first-hand what it’s like to be a part of a film production.

From the first day of class, students, gaining crucial knowledge in the film making process. Students study under tutelage of working professional filmmakers who provide invaluable insight into everything from how to operate state-of-the-art equipment to finding success as a filmmaker in the State of Georgia and beyond.

OVERVIEW – 12-Weeks

The Evening Workshop is the ideal program for individuals who must balance filmmaking with other responsibilities. Designed for students with little or no filmmaking experience, the course meets two evenings a week from 7:00-9:30pm in Fayetteville, GA located in the Pinewood Production Centre. Films are shot on the weekends. In addition, some classes may be held on Saturdays. Film title, subject to change.

FORMAT

The Evening Workshop gives students the instruction they need while allowing them to fulfill other obligations during the day through the work week. All classes are geared toward providing the building blocks needed to create a film. The Evening Workshop is comprised of approximately 100 hours of class time and production.

The first six weeks, students have a pre-production period to cast, scout locations, crewing the film.

In the second six weeks, is devoted to production and post-production. Student are paired in their areas of interest to gain intensive hands-on training. Students rotate among the key crew positions of director of photography, assistant camera, and gaffer/grip.

The course culminates in a screening of the students’ films, which is open to cast, crew, family, and friends. Upon the successful completion of the course, students are eligible to submit their script ideas to be part of Cinema South Filmmaking course where their idea will be created and produced for film and receive a Cinema South Filmmaking Course diploma.  Students will be informed of the official release date of the film into the market-place.
